It’s graduation season, and the History Department congratulates the following on the successful completion of their doctoral degrees in the past year:
From Summer 2013:
Anthony Minnema, “The Latin Readers of Algazel, 1150-1600.” Tony’s dissertation was directed by Dr. Thomas Burman. Tony received his BA at Calvin College and MA at Western Michigan University before joining us at UTK.
Kyle Stephens, “To the Indian Removal Act, 1814 – 1830.” Kyle’s dissertation was directed by Dr. Daniel Feller. Kyle received his BA at the University of Alabama and MA at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
William Hardy, “‘Fare well to all Radicals’: Redeeming Tennessee, 1869-70.” William’s dissertation was directed by Dr. Stephen Ash. William received his BA and MA at the University of Louisville.
Brenda Alexander, “Planting a Community of Gentleman and Ladies on the Plateau: Thomas Hughes and the East Tennessee Rugby.” Brenda’s dissertation was directed by John Bohstedt.
Jordan Kuck, “The Dictator without a Uniform: K?rlis Ulmanis, Agrarian Nationalism, Transational Fascism, and Interwar Latvia.” Jordan’s dissertation was directed by Vejas Liulevicius.
