EVENT: Nuclear Air Defense During The Cold War

Michael Weaver - CSWS guest lecturerOn November 11th at The University Center Crest Room Dr. Michael Weaver, Associate Professor of History at the U.S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College, will give a talk entitled “Nuclear Air Defense during the Cold War”as part of our onging Faculty Research Seminar on “After Wars.”

Dr.  Weaver is a graduate of The University of Tennessee and worked with Dr. Charles Johnson in our History Department during his studies here. He currently teaches courses on military history and international security to active-duty military officers. He recently published Guard Wars: The 28th Infantry Division in World War II (Indiana University Press, 2010), which investigates the relationship between the National Guard and U.S. Army by following the Pennsylvania National Guard’s 28th Infantry Division from peacetime to the battlefield. His wider research deals with the U.S. Air Force during the Cold War, and the use of air power during the Vietnam War.DF-ST-82-00483
