The University of Tennessee History Department faculty and graduate students participated in the regional National History Day competition on Friday, March 4th. This is one of several partnerships between the department and the East Tennessee Historical Society that serves to encourage history education in the state. Over 300 middle and high school students presented their research, with the winners heading to state and perhaps national rounds of competition. The department’s participation is coordinated by Dr. Dan Feller (right), who also serves as a judge at the event. Co-sponsors included the UT College of Arts & Sciences and the UT Humanities Center.
