The Correspondence of James K Polk Project Project recently launched its new (and first-ever) web-site.
According to Tom Chaffin, the project’s director and editor, the web-site features essential information on James K. Polk and the work of the Polk Project in locating and publishing annotated transcriptions of the 11th U.S. president’s correspondence in a multi-volume series. Toward those ends, the site features biographical information on Polk, portraits of him, and scans of sample letters and their annotated transcriptions. It also features links to other Polk-related web-sites.
Chaffin and the project’s assistant editor Michael Cohen produced the site’s contents; and it was designed by doctoral candidate Robert Rennie. Other content will be added to the site over the coming months.
