Nicholas Strasser
Doctoral Candidate
Nick Strasser is a PhD student studying twentieth-century German history under the direction of Dr. Vejas Liulevicius. His research focuses on the connection between German literature and politics during the Weimar era into the Third Reich. His current project deals with Zukunftsromane or science fiction novels of the period by examining questions of modernism and geopolitics while investigating the political continuities of nationalism, racism, and colonial anxieties that influenced German reading culture.
Nick has also worked as a TA for a variety of history survey courses as both an MA and PhD student. He currently serves as a representative for the Modern European Caucus and Chair of the History Graduate Affairs Committee.
