Department of History About Us

Our award-winning faculty study the human past using a range of tools, from artifacts and oral traditions to ancient manuscripts and contemporary digital media. We bring our excitement about uncovering and understanding humans’ diverse experiences to the classroom. We strive to convey empathy for human actors while critically examining sources and marshalling arguments for historical stasis and change.
