History Major, BA
Every history major works closely with department faculty in small groups to learn historians’ methods in the first semesters and to complete a major research project at the end of their studies.

History Minor
The History minor consists of 18 hours. A History minor complements any major by giving the student skills in articulation, writing, and a broad base of historical understanding. Courses can be selected that complement the student’s major and thus enrich their skillset and knowledge base.

History of Science, Medicine, and Technology Minor
The 18-hour minor in History of Science, Medicine, and Technology offers students—especially those in pre-health fields, the sciences, and engineering—opportunities to learn how those professions have both shaped, and have been shaped by, a wide range of cultural, economic, political, and intellectual developments.
“We are not makers of history. We are made by history.”
