Sarah Babcock

Graduate Student

Sarah Babcock is a first-year PhD student under the direction of Tore Olsson. Her research focuses on agriculture labor organizing in the United States and Mexico and examines the political, social, and cultural forces that shape it. In particular, she is interested in the historical and collective memory of the Mexican Revolution among agriculture laborers on both sides of the border, and how that memory influenced ag labor organizing efforts in the mid 20th century.

Research Interests: 20th-century United States, 20th-century Mexico, public history, borderlands, immigration, labor, agriculture
