Susan Hernandez

Graduate Student

Susan Hernandez is a first-year MA student studying Europe from the fall of the Roman Empire through the tenth century under Matthew Gillis. Her research focuses on the religious, cultural, and political aspects of the Merovingian dynasty. She is particularly interested in the prominent women of the early Middle Ages and how they were able to wield their power.

Research Interests: Early medieval Europe, Merovingian World, cultural history, women and power, religion
