James Sterling

James Sterling is a first-year PhD student studying medieval Europe under Matthew Gillis. His research focuses on chronicles of the first crusade and how those narratives shaped ideals of leadership in the High Middle Ages. James is particularly interested in the ideology of leadership, Medieval construction of individual power, and chronicles as didactic models.
